36 weeks pregnant and hiking

Normally those two things would be oxymorons, but today they were in perfect harmony.  We went to Ledges State Park this morning for some hiking.... even though I am GREAT with child!   Don't worry, mom, this wasn't a strenuous hike, but more like a nice inclining walk in the woods.  I was a little worried, but we did an easy trail.

We got to see some pretty good views and we LOVED being outside.  I am so glad that our girls love to be in the woods and outside like we do.  It is so cool that Grace will pick up rocks, acorns, flowers, insects, etc. and asks, "So, mommy, how did God make this acorn?"  She finds collections where ever she goes.  Today she really enjoyed collecting acorns, but when her hands were too full, she threw them to the squirrels.  Too cute!

We also got to see several green frogs by the water.  It was neat to see how they were camouflaged.  Grace had to really search and search to find them.... that challenge was right up her alley.

We found a great place to stop and eat some lunch... I was SO HUNGRY!!
(That is a large belly I have there!!)

I brought some Cheez-its as part of our lunch.  I didn't know that they were going to be such a hit.  They were the ones with letters on them, so Grace had to tell us what the letter was and some thing that began with that letter... that was HER game and NOT WHAT WE MADE HER DO!  She is just amazing!  (By the way, she is really reading; she can read just about every three letter word that we put in front of her!)

Daddy and Grace having a little chat after lunch!

Enjoying the view with my BIG girl!

Finding more special things from God's Creation...  good thing I have that backpack on... it looks like I could topple over at any moment and it makes a great counter-balance!  :)
So... it was a great adventure today. Other highlights:  Grace got to pee in the woods, Grace found two stick to make into a sword, Hannah threw up all over the backpack when we were only 2-3 minutes from the car to go home, there was no need for band-aids or major first aid, and I DIDN'T go into labor in the middle of the woods!  YAHOO!
