The birthday girl…part three!

Grace asked for chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkles for her birthday.  She and I made them on Wednesday night and were terribly excited to eat them on Thursday.  She will have a special cake at her party, but she had to have cake on her actual birthday, right?  We added M&Ms instead of sprinkles so we could make a five on the top… even more yummy than sprinkles!

After the yummy-ness of dessert, Grace and I got ready to go to a play.  Danny purchased two tickets for us to see Stuart Little at the Playhouse in DSM.  She loves to pretend and act and she had never been to something like this.  Our youth pastor, Howie, was in the play and the boy who was Stuart is a nephew of our worship pastor.  We weren’t attending an actual show, but it was the final dress rehearsal.  We got $5 tickets and everything was the same as the real show except there was a man taking pictures of the actors – I didn’t even really see him doing it!

It was great to be out with just my Grace!  We hardly get to do that any more, so we both loved it!  She sat on my lap for the whole first act and HARDLY moved.  She was giggling throughout the show, but she didn’t even talk at all!  At the end of the show we went into the lobby to meet the cast.  She was in AWE to meet Stuart and even got his autograph!!!  She got the autographs of all of the other cast members including Pastor Howie…. HOW COOL!  From the time we left the theatre, she was pretending to be Stuart.  I even helped her with her buckles and called her Stuart… which she LOVED!  What a crazy kid!  I LOVE HER!  We can totally see her doing this when she is older.  She loves to perform and is very good at it.  Who knows… we may see her at the Playhouse some day!
