Traditions

There are a few fall traditions that the Lightners have: raking leaves and jumping in them, picking apples, making apple pie/apple crisp, carving a pumpkin and roasting pumpkin seeds!  Even though we were not able to pick apples this year due to the weather hurting the apple crop (we couldn’t find an orchard around here that would let people pick their own), we managed to carve a good looking pumpkin as a family!

Danny likes the gross job of getting the “guts” and “slime” from the pumpkin.  The girls like to help, but they were a little leery at first!  I always clean up after most of the easy part is taken care of!

Mom, you really want ME to stick my hand in there?  NO WAY!

Josiah thought our pumpkin was SO FUNNY!!  He loved the flickering candle inside!  It was great to see him laughing so hard!
