Balls, Uncles, Aunts, Grampa and a cool evening!

When I think of some of my favorite memories growing up, they were of family being together.  And when our family was together, we were not always watching tv (even though I vividly remember a Wheel of Fortune episode with dad cheering for bankruptcy and videos of Herbie the Love Bug), we mostly did things outside together.  We loved being in the snow, in the pool, out on the soccer field, making up ball games on the swings, having our own tennis tournaments on the driveway or playing HORSE for the millionth time (after Adam had shot his 100 foul shots for the day).

So after dinner one night in FL, I called for the grandkids aunts and uncles and we headed outside to enjoy the cool of the evening!  We brought a few balls and I knew that they would provide ample entertainment until the sun went down…. and boy was I right…it would have been PERFECT if James, Boo and Andrew were there! It would have been a great way to “break in” Andrew…with a mean tackle from Riley!  :)

Hannah got right down to business with a great tackle on Uncle Adam!

We all lined up in the backyard and had kicking and throwing contests toward the empty lot behind the house… I didn’t think anyone could beat my brother (I WAS a little worried that Rachelle may beat all the boys), but Danny won the throwing contest… way to go, Lightner!

This was one of the last plays of the night before it was too dark to see the football… next time we need a fluorescent or glow in the dark ball! OR… Dad needs to install stadium lighting for our adventures!
