Josiah is AWAKE

There are days that it seems like Josiah is only awake to eat...and he eats A LOT!   (Hopefully he is eating me THIN!)  And if he isn't eating, he is crying!  :)

But today he was awake for a while and wasn't crying... I got a little video of him.  He is starting to coo a little bit, but that isn't too evident on this video.  He is a cute little man and is looking more and more like his daddy (in my opinion that isn't a bad thing!)

Two Weeks

So... the last two weeks have been crazy.. BUT GREAT!  Wow...I have THREE amazing kids!  It certainly has been a juggling act, but the Lord has been my strength and I am learning.  I am learning what the kids need and when and how to balance.  It is amazing how many things you can do one-handed while nursing!  MULTI-TASKING!!  :)

Josiah had his two week appointment yesterday... he is now 9 pound and 5 ounces!  What a HUGE kid!  The doctors hope that a baby is at their birth weight by two weeks, but he has exceeded that by 13 ounces!  He is a great eater, pooper and sleeper (just like Danny!).

The Lightners go to church

Yup… you read that right.  We took Josiah to church when he was only 6 days old.  That is just what Pastors and their families do!  We were excited to get there and see friends, and it was easy to get all of us ready when I had Danny and Mom to help.  We were three-on-three.  Not bad! We got there right in time for Danny to do all of the things that he had to at church... it was a little crazy, but it WILL get better!

Going home

We were so excited to get Josiah home…it starts to feel really real when you put clothes on the little one, put him in the car seat and carry him out of the hospital!  Danny and I have commented each time that there should be some kind of test, IQ exam or emotional evaluation in order for the hospital to clear you to leave with an infant.  There are NO MANUALS…NO BACKGROUND CHECKS…NOTHING.

The girls LOVED having us home.  Grace was anxious to hold the baby and Hannah was anxious for us to hold her!  She did warm up to the baby and started to gently touch his toes and lay her head on his soft blanket.

It was great having mom here with the girls while we were gone... and now that we are home it will be great for her to take care of ME!  :)

He's here!

So...in my last blog, I was trying to be patient and wait for this baby to arrive.  I was trusting in my Lord to put the finishing details on my little man so he would come into the world happy and healthy!
HE IS NOW HERE!  YEAH!

Josiah James was born on Monday, October 11 at 7:03 pm weighing 8 pounds and 8.5 ounces.  He was and is a healthy BIG BOY!  His sisters love him and so do his mommy and daddy! Here are his first pictures from the hospital for the blog... I will try to get you all caught up on our lives....

.

Josiah gets a bath to be nice and clean to meet his sisters!

The girls visited on Tuesday.... Grace is in LOVE!

Ready to go home on Wednesday morning!

"While I'm Waiting" by John Waller

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait

I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord!

Dreaming of Baby

Looking through new born pictures of my babies has really got me dreaming of our new baby!  What will he look like? Will he have dark hair like the girls?  Will he love to snuggle with mommy?  Will he have a birth mark like Hannah?  Will he have Danny's ears or chin?  What will this little guy be like?  We are anxious to find out!  He has been and will continue to be prayed for and I can't wait to tell him that.  I have always loved those first fresh minutes with my newborns -- time to snuggle them, kiss them, look at them all over, and tell them how much God loves them... a time that they get their first bath from mommy's tears!  Those precious times are coming... and I CAN'T WAIT!

Hannah Joy (3-1)

So.. when will this little guy come and finally get a name?  I am not sure, but we are excited to meet him.  Even as I type, he is moving all around..."Come out, baby!  There will be more room to move out here!"
