The Red, White and Blue!

In history this year, we are going through the history of the formation of the Americas  with an emphasis on the United States’ history.  We have begun this unit of study with a look at our flag, our colors, our states, the pledges and other basics.  One activity that Grace loved was making a red, white and blue snack.  She and I made raspberry Jell-o with apples in it (RED), then added cool whip to the top (WHITE), and then made our own blue sugar to dust onto the top (BLUE).  She was very proud of her cooking skills and was delighted to pass it out to everyone!  They all thought this was a yummy way to talk about the USA!

Her siblings especially like it when she has cooking projects for school!

Diligently making her own snack now… with extra cool whip and extra sugar!  That’s the benefit of being the chef, right?
