Breakfast is the most important meal of the day…. at least that is what I have heard, but according to the meals that Danny makes for us, you would not assume that he believes this. Danny and Grace make very chocolaty chocolate chip pancakes EVERY Saturday and he occasionally makes Stewed Crackers (Saltines, butter and water). Now he has moved on to another nutritious breakfast for our family: homemade doughnuts in the deep fryer! Yup… nice and healthy!
He uses refrigerator biscuits to make the actual doughnuts and fries them for about a minute on each side. Then he adds cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or a chocolate glaze! They are delicious and we ALL LOVE them… but as far as a great start to the day… we have to balance it out with milk and a LARGE FRUIT!!
my mom made those for us growing up! I haven't had them in years! May have to make them just for the memories!
