Baby Boy and Birthday boy

So... another year with my precious Danny!  Yippee!!

When I look at Josiah, I think about how I want him to be like his daddy!  I pray that he develops his daddy's love for God and passion for His Word.  I pray that he is generous, loving, patient, wise and discerning like his daddy!  He doesn't need to be a pastor, but I pray that he will use whatever talents and gifts God has built within him for the Kingdom!  I pray that he is a man of God... like his daddy!

 And... if he is as cute as his daddy... LOOK OUT WORLD!!

What is wrong with me?

So... I have all of these great ideas... ideas that are great for a split second, but then they turn out to be just TORTURE!!!  What is wrong with me? I usually think that these things are fun and educational and that I am being a great mommy for letting them do these creative things.  On Friday.... I was a grump...a mommy of three grump!  I think was just my mood yesterday, but I just couldn't STAND the mess that this activity made!  It was driving me crazy... didn't I know that a two year old would make a mess?  Isn't that just part of the fun?  Isn't it better that she use these things to practice pouring than using grape juice?  :)

So... the girls had a blast... I tried to have a little fun, too, but this morning they were BEGGING to play again.  I reluctantly let them because I know they love it, they are learning, and it can be cleaned up easily! 

 I am over my little "funk" of yesterday.  Yes, I will let them play with shaving cream, chocolate pudding, play dough, etc.  I am a good mommy.... caring more about THEM then a perfect house!  

Weird Strawberries

Strawberries were on sale this week and they looked good (I do like the look of strawberries, but I just don't like to eat them, mom!).  I bought a package and when I dove down at the bottom, there was THIS monster strawberry... it has made me laugh ever since I saw it!  What is wrong with that thing?  Mutant?  Siamese twin? Whatever it is, the girls enjoyed eating him.... they didn't care what he looked like!  :)

Chubs!

In the vernacular of Kelsey Durant, "Chubs!!!!"

The girls have been going around all week squeezing Josiah's cheeks and saying, "Chubs!!!"  It is really cute when they do it to him... but NOT when they try it on me!  :)

Who wouldn't want to squeeze those cheeks?

Our little Joy

Two!  She is TWO today!  I just cannot believe that our little Joy... Hannah Joy is two today!  She is such a little blessing to us in so many ways... here is just some of what I love about Hannah.

1.  She does EVERYTHING with great enthusiasm.
2.  She gives tight hugs around my neck.
3.  Her giggle is contagious.
4. She loves to do puzzles with me!
5.  Her big blue eyes remind me of her Grampa!
6. There is almost always a "Hannah story" from her time in the nursery.
7.  She begs for us to read her more books!
8.  She never walks... she runs, jogs, hops, tip-toes, crawls, etc.
9.  She loves to sing and dance to music.
10.  She enjoys eating most any thing!
11. She is so cute when she says big words like "favorite" or strings words together like  "thank you, mommy!"
12.  She reminds me that life is short, that I need great wisdom to be the mommy that she needs me to be, and that my daily time with my Savior is my energy source!  :)
